Snaith and Cowick Drama Group are excited to announce their latest production- ‘Maid Marian and her Witty Women, a summer pantomime’. The show has been specially written for the group by professional pantomime performer Steve Boyce, and is a laugh a minute adventure through Sherwood Forest, full of traditional pantomime jokes and routines, but told in a way that you won’t have seen before.
Deep in the heart of Sherwood Forest live a band of outlaws, determined to do good and defend the people of Nottingham no matter what the dangers. They are led by the bravest and most fearless leader that Pantoland has ever seen. Meanwhile, in Nottingham Castle the evil Sheriff is determined to tax every penny he can from the people of Sherwood and will stop at nothing to make sure that he gets exactly what he wants; and that includes the hand of the kingdom’s most eligible princess.
You may think that you know this story already, but you’d definitely be wrong! You see the Sheriff is determined to marry Robyn, known to her friends as Red Riding Hood, and only the good deeds of our heroine Maid Marian and her outlaw band ‘The Witty Women’ can stop him. Making sure the story runs smoothly, Robyn is looked over by her lovable Granny Hood; and Dame Henrietta, her delightfully dotty mum ensures that no rib goes unticked in this fun filled show for all the family.
The show is to be performed at Snaith School Saturday 13th July (2.30pm and 7.30pm) and Sunday 14th July (2.30pm).
Ticket are £7 for adults and £5 for children, and will be available soon.
